Do your part when it comes to recycling, utilize an on-site mobile shredding company.

Don’t forget your media materials, i.e. hard drives, CD’s/DVD’s, old floppy discs, cassettes, etc…

Check what you have in storage, do you still need to be paying to house all those boxes?

Let’s be candid, you care about security first and recycling second. You need to protect your company files, your personal files – and then we will contribute to protecting the environment. This philosophy is fine, but there is only one way to ensure both of these are happening. When you use an on-site mobile shredding company your documents are securely destroyed first on-site, before they leave your premises for the recycling facility. When using an off-site facility, sure, the documents are being recycled, but were they handled securely – were they even shredded first? How are you to be even sure they made to the recycling facility? At Brooklyn-Queens Shredding we had an example of this just last week. A potential client from our Brooklyn market stated that they had been using an off-site shredding company to dispose of their confidential papers. Just by coincidence, one of there own drivers making a delivery walked into this off-site facility by mistake. He then detailed to my contact how the floor of this warehouse was just covered in papers, some shredded, some partially, and then some were in complete document form. She was incensed and then called me the next day. So please remember, you need to first secure your information before recycling.
